Giving Thanks this Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is such a great time to remind us of all the wonderful reason to give thanks in our lives. Today Raechelle Bellus is showing us how to make this beautifully designed card, whether you are saying thanks for a gift given or a special friends, hand made cards are just the special way to do it.

Instructions:

• Adhere top sheet of patterned paper to orange sheet allowing at least a ¼” border.
• With the top patterned paper as your guide, with a pencil lightly mark a dot 1/16” out from the corner using The Perfect Ruler.
• Again, using The Perfect Ruler top paper as your guide, move up along each side of the paper and lightly mark a dot with a pencil 1/8”.
• Place the Perfect Cutting Mat underneath the papers. Align The Perfect Ruler along these two (or more) dots and cut along the ruler edge. Repeat on other side.
• Adhere the two layers to a third piece of patterned paper (blue in this case) allowing at least ¼” allowance.
• Using the second layer (orange paper) as your guide, with a pencil lightly mark a dot 1/16” out from the corner using The Perfect Ruler.
• Again, using The Perfect Ruler top paper as your guide, move up along each side of the paper and lightly mark a dot with a pencil 1/4”.
• Place the Perfect Cutting Mat underneath the papers. Align The Perfect Ruler along these two (or more) dots and cut along the ruler edge. Repeat on other side.
• (optional step) Add some machine stitching around top edges.
• Your end result will look as shown:

• Adhere finished layers on top of card base in desired position (you can use above photo as a guide).
• Flip card over, align The Perfect Ruler along card edge, and trim off excess:

• (optional step) place a sheet of paper over the patterned paper and add some Navy and Gold misting allowing a little to get on the edges of the patterned papers.
• Add thanks sentiment and burlap flower. Add a small dollop of glue to center of flower and coil small piece of twine. Finish with bow and some enamel dots.
